UNBEATEN USA PROVE TO BE STRONG FAVORITES.

Against the unbeaten USA team it was always going to be a tough call but the boys in particular did us proud even as we went down 2-4.

All four Americans were powerful hitters so even more credit to Joubert Klopper in winning his match against Trinity Grear 61 62. He played superbly and the score line reflects his quality of play. It was a display of excellent discipline and skill in crafting his points and his shot selection must be commended.

Robbie Arendse had a superb game against Muhammed Dossani but the score line of 36 26 is no reflection of the quality of the match. The boys also won their doubles in a most enthralling match and had to save two match points before edging home.

The girls faced very powerful hitters in Robin Montgomery and Ayana Akli but they fought valiantly. Overall the standard and depth this year has been extremely high.

After the tennis the team was introduced to making tea Japanese style and took part in a tea drinking ceremony which was followed by a lesson in the Japanese art of calligraphy. These activities have offered our players a great diversion from on court intensity and the experiences assimilating Japanese culture, as well as inter action socially, have offered some amazing life skill experiences.
