SA IC HAS POSTPONED THE LEGENDS EVENT

It is with a great deal of sadness that we have decided to postpone the Legends event until a suitable date in 2021.

Along with many other sporting events scheduled for the near future, and in line with Government regulations on gatherings, it became apparent that the risks were too great to hold such an event. The Coronavirus has changed the way the world will go about their daily lives for the foreseeable future and the fear is the situation will get worse before it gets better.

Part of the celebrations included honoring the Legends of South African tennis, but when these people advised us that they would be reluctant to travel, it became apparent that those who should have been the center of the occasion would not be here.

It was not an easy decision to make in view of the work that had gone into organizing such an event, but it became apparent that we could not expect other countries to travel to South Africa with the risks so high especially as most, if not all, were deemed to be those more susceptible to this virus.

It is hoped that the Legends event will be staged in 2021 after consultation with Sun City as the venue and our sponsors and stakeholders.

We thank those countries who had committed to come and play in the event and sincerely hope that they will be part of the-rearranged event next year.
