Cape Town Breakfast

Whilst on holiday in Cape Town chairman Mike Dunk was able to host a breakfast for our members in that region. Thanks to the tremendous organization by the Cape committee led by our President, Lorna Krog and members Yvonne Fichardt and Rusty Clement.

They chose the beautiful and scenic Durbanville Hills wine estate which served a sumptuous breakfast to the 19 members who attended. Seated in a large room overlooking the vineyards was an ideal way to get together with members and share many happy moments of the past.

Due to restrictions on gatherings during the Covid pandemic we have been handcuffed in being able to hold such functions, but with the gradual lifting of these restrictions, we can now take advantage of being able to get members together which started last year with lunches and dinners to smaller numbers.

After breakfast the group went to the tasting room where Mike was able to tell the members what has been happening over the past year, highlight the success of the Vosloorus training program and give notice of some of the events planned over the next couple of years or so.

It was very pleasing to receive emails from members thanking us for having a function such as this and saying that they enjoyed the “get together” and being able to reminisce about events going back many years.

This is something that we intend to replicate in future years.
